If the voice in your head says “I wish…”

Wear the Shorts!

Coach Sall

If you wish it, then wear it.

Our “Wear the Shorts” campaign has sparked some very interesting conversation in the gym.

When we began at the beginning of July, it was about the reasons women don’t wear shorts. As our campaign has gained momentum, more and more of you have got on board with shorts, vests, crop tops, dresses, bright colours and patterns too, some of you have felt inspired by what others are wearing, amazing!

I’ve been listening to what you are all saying and I want to draw your attention to the little voice in your head (if it’s there), one that is giving a compliment to someone else, while at the same time, reasoning why it doesn’t apply to you.

It starts like this… “Ooooo, I love those shorts/that vest/dress/skirt, you look great” – the compliment.

And then… “I wish I could wear shorts/that vest/dress/skirt like those” – excluding yourself.

So, whether you wear shorts right now or not, is not really the issue, because as we have mentioned, if you don’t want to wear shorts, you definitely don’t have to.

The issue here is how you are talking about what you are not wearing in your head. If you are wishing you could, then you should. Those words are your cue to take action. Because the truth here is, you CAN wear shorts/that vest/dress/skirt like those, all you have to do is… put them on.

If you need to gather your courage in both hands, we understand. The gym is a safe place to try these things out. You can tell us what you’re not sure of, and we can tell you how great you look, regardless of what the little voice in your head might be saying.

Because here’s the thing.

That little voice isn’t yours. It’s someone else’s, it’s been planted, it’s a falsehood. If you wouldn’t say it about someone else, then don’t say it to yourself.

If you wish it, then wear it.

Amazing ladies, looking fresh (and very happy) in their shorts!
