Why perfection is holding you back!

Strive for Perfection or Excellence?

What do you strive for in life? Or in your health, fitness or weight loss goals? Is it perfection? Do you find that when you ‘don’t’ achieve perfection you feel guilty, like a failure? There’s seemingly no success?

Well, did you know that striving for perfection is the thing that is holding you back? It hides you away from what you actually want and what you can actually achieve! It hides those opportunities for you to be successful and more importantly to see what you have achieved. 

This is when we need to start working at progress. Or better yet, it’s time to strive for excellence. 

Excellence is ‘the quality of being outstanding or extremely good.’ Doesn’t that sound much more appealing?? No expectation to be perfect here, just to work to be the best version of you, you can be. To be ‘extremely good’ over perfect. What is perfection anyway? It is so different for each individual, which makes perfection redundant. 

What may seem flawless to you, may be the complete opposite to someone else, and when we consider the reason we aim for perfection is, most likely, to appear almost prestigious to others, then isn’t that a wasted effort when they don’t agree with you that you are perfect? 

This is why it is so important to work towards excellence over perfection. You will feel so much more fulfilled in yourself when you try to please yourself over others. If you feel amazing seeing your progress, then THAT is what is important. THAT is what will motivate you. You are so much more when you enjoy the process.
