Lean in… and re-establish routines

September is the time of year that routines are re-established, and it’s the perfect opportunity to make sure some healthy self-care gets prioritised. Take a moment to think about what self-care really looks like for you. There are no rights or wrongs, but if you only have 5 minutes a day what do you really, really want to do with that time?

Every day we see women lower themselves on the priority list, and work with women that have held their own wellbeing in such low order that their health has been seriously compromised.

It only takes 5 to 30 minutes each day, so start small but be consistent. Most of all, don’t be afraid to speak up; let those who may interrupt (or those you might depend on to distract those who may interrupt) know your plans and your commitment to you. Don’t be embarrassed, feel guilty or fumble this important step.

Stake your claim on that small slice of each day and be consistent. Start small. What can you do in 5 minutes? Set a timer and see… you might be surprised, especially when you do it every day, and consistency is probably the most crucial part of all.

September is also a great time to reconnect with your support system, reach out to your Coach, your workout friend, or anyone else that gives you good vibes.

Lean in, re-establish those routines and prioritise that small amount of time for you (no-one will notice… honest 😉).
