5 minutes to instant energy

Coach Kirsty

In our modern age (especially post-pandemic) it can really feel as if we are constantly inside, which can soon become very draining and tiring, both physically and mentally, especially for those who are staring at a screen for hours on end.

That's why getting your daily fix of fresh air is super important, now more than ever!

Ways you could increase time outdoors could be anything from taking a short walk around the street to sitting out in your garden; even just opening a window gets that fresh air in!

As you breathe in fresh air, the oxygen levels in your blood increase which circulates to your brain and leaves you feeling more energised and increases your ability to concentrate and remember information. Think of it as a little time for your brain to have a break, rest and relax so that you’re ready for the next task and the rest of your day!

More benefits of fresh air include a mood boost (when oxygen levels raise serotonin levels increase too which can improve your mood), an increases vitamin D levels which keeps your bones, teeth and muscles healthy and it improves your sleep cycle as exposure to natural light allows you to sleep longer and better!

What more excuse do you need to step away from that chair, the chores or the screen? Go on, take 5 minutes and enjoy that fresh air!
