The Weight Paradox!
Weight Management is not about Maths!
Coach Sall
I’ve talked before about getting really clear on your “why” and I want to put something out there that might just blow your mind.
If you’ve got a weight in mind that you are aiming to be, and I ask you why, and you say “because I know I feel better at that weight” then I want you to think about what I’m going to say next very carefully…
Did you really feel better because of your weight...
or were you that weight because at that time in your life you felt good?
It’s a big question, especially if you been led to truly believe your emotionally well-being is affected by the number on the scale.
But I promise you, work on this one thing and you’ll have the opportunity leave your weight and food battles in the past.
Weight management is not the math problem you’ve been led to believe (calories vs calories out). It’s really about life management, and how you process emotions.
Think about what do you do/don’t do when you feel good (especially about yourself)? And what do you do/don’t when you feel tired, overwhelmed, emotionally drained, sad, angry or simply worn out?
This is why exercise is so important. Aside from the physical benefits to our health exercise helps us to handle stress, it improves our emotional resilience, helps us to regulate our reactions to what’s happening in our lives and improves our connection to our bodies.
Self-love can be a huge ask for many women, but remember exercise is a form of self-respect – it’s an expression of your appreciation for all your body does every single day.
Exercise, especially Strength Training, is a great starting point for changing how you think and feel about yourself, which is the only sure path to long term health and fitness.
Is it time to reverse your thinking, instead of losing weight to feel better, start thinking and feeling better to lose weight*.
P.S. *This new thinking starts with your workouts - workout because of how it makes you FEEL, not to burn calories 🙌
