Kaz’s Story - overnight success

Curves Ilkeston women’s gym member Kaz, sits down to plan her workouts and Coach Sall celebrates in the background

Need any motivation or encouragement? (Of course we do!) This is quite a long post but seriously... read the whole thing... This gal

This is how you do it!

Our Kaz, making her plan for June, she's got her work rota, her glasses, she's pulled up a chair and asked me for a ruler - she means business!

Kaz joined in October, but when I tell you all this stuff takes time, I'm not kidding! She told us at least three times she'd changed her mind and was going to cancel her membership because.... well, all the usual reasons that stops women going to the gym.

In the end, with the support of her Coaches, the other members and the encouragement of her wife, she gradually BUILT this habit of exercise (because that's what it takes, it's not a switch you flick, it's something you build over time)...

AND she started to feel all the benefits (beginning with feeling what it's like to be welcome in an exercise space, to have cheerleaders, and the mental health benefits of exercise), oh, and....

she's also lost 2 stone since she joined YIKES!

Here's what it looked like IRL... Take note, there is NO SUCH THING AS OVERNIGHT SUCCESS
October - 5 workouts
November - 3 workouts
December - 2 workouts
January - 5 workouts
February - 8 workouts (she's getting it now)
March - 10 workouts (now her brain is helping her spot opportunities not obstacles)
April - 14 workouts (sweet spot)
May - 9 workouts so far (and she's been on holiday )

I can't even list begin all the benefits Kaz has got (maybe she will in the comments ) from her workouts and from this amazing community of women we are so, so privileged to have here in Ilkeston.

Coach Dannii celebrates Kaz’s success with a celebration selfie big smiles
