6 Reasons you should Embrace (and celebrate) SLOW progress.
Coach Sall
Too often there is disappointment in the air when numbers don’t move fast enough so I’m here to tell you, ready for next week’s Coaching and Accountability, why you should embrace (and CELEBRATE) your slow progress…
Setting a goal for slow progress (rather than big, overnight stuff) can make the actions you need to take more feasible and therefor easier to put into and keep in your daily routine.
You will develop a tolerance for the fact you probably won’t see the big change right away (such as a huge drop on the number on the scale) helping you to stay focused on the tasks that really move you forward towards your big goal.
You decrease your desire to hasten results, which can be so high it impedes your progress as you either make huge sacrifice that you can’t sustain, follow quick fixes (that mostly don’t work) or fall off the wagon in despair.
You reduce the stress that comes with trying to make huge efforts, pushing beyond what is doable and therefor reduce the need to sooth yourself which often means doing the very things you are trying to avoid (you know what I mean)
You have the time to solve the problems that keep showing up for you, and they seem less important as you celebrate your slower progress and so increase your motivation.
You let go of the despair that comes from not meeting your own (too high) expectations so you can show yourself some compassion and start to meet your commitment to yourself – which is another thing to celebrate.
How can you adjust your expectations so you can embrace your slow progress while keeping your eye on your big goal? Hit reply and let me know, or be sure to let your Coach know next week!
