A moment of celebration, please.

Coach Sall

We live in a world where we (women) are conditioned to downplay our achievements and if our lives depended on us celebrating our own small achievements, well, I think we would be in trouble.

The most important thing to understand is, if we don’t identify, acknowledge, and celebrate (reward) our small achievements, then our motivation dips, and then we stop doing the thing we are trying to do, we don’t get results and we give up (our self-esteem in tatters anew).

It's time to celebrate and reward the action you take (ie exercise), and the immeasurable successes that make the most difference to your LIFE and your WELLBEING (ie more sleep, more energy, less pain, ease of movement).

Sometimes, you might have to “reach” for that celebration. Sometimes, getting out of bed or tying your own shoelaces is as good as it gets. You must grasp that, with both hands, and celebrate it as if you just won a gold medal for getting out of bed or tying your own shoelaces. So that tomorrow, or next week, you not only tie your own shoelaces, but you also walk in the gym, drink the water, do 1, 2, or 3 workouts, and the week after that, and the week after that.

When you feel good about yourself, when you celebrate what your body can do, when you see that the efforts you are making are worthy of the changes you are seeing and experiencing (i.e. NOT numbers), then… well, then you will continue to consistently take, and enjoy the actions that will bring about the big changes over time.
