I gift you this word

Coach Sall

This week I’m giving you a word, a very powerful word, one that will keep you focused, and refire your motivation muscle just when you need it most…

What is this amazing word I hear you clamour? It’s a very humble word of just three letters, but trust me, if you use it consistently, it will enhance your persistence with the actions you need to take to achieve your goals.

Your word is YET.

YET is important because it keeps hope alive, and your subconscious looking for opportunity. You need to practice using it, adding to your sentences, like this:

o   I haven’t been for a workout this week… yet

o   I haven’t got all greens… yet

o   I can’t fit in my ________ … yet

o   I am not fit enough to keep up with the grandchildren… yet

o   I can’t fit 3 workouts a week in… yet

We can all be very quick to self-criticise when we think we aren’t measuring up and speak to ourselves in a way we would never speak out loud or to anyone else. It can be hard to change these habits, they’ve become so ingrained by our culture and our upbringing.

Using “yet” is a nice save from perfectionism (the enemy of progress). It will literally bring your head up and have you looking outwards ready to take the action.

Try it, say it now, “I am not as fit as I would like to be yet”!

Sounds powerful and optimistic, doesn’t it? You’re welcome 😉
