Take Inventory; You Won’t Believe the Result!

Coach Sall

I was absolutely stuck on what to write about this week.

To get myself unstuck I took inventory of my week to see what themes came to mind. I checked my diary, I looked through my notebook, and I looked what I’ve been reading.

I was looking for was a story to share, what I found were the best parts of my week (and a couple of missed opportunities).

And I’m sharing it with you because it’s easy to say, “I haven’t achieved anything”, “I’ve not made any progress”, “I’m stuck…” when in actual fact, all action IS progress, and we need to recognise the actions we take and acknowledge what we are DOING with our time.

Lightbulb moment: when you take inventory of your week, you can see your progress EVEN WHEN YOU CAN’T SEE THE RESULTS YET.

You will also see “the ones that got away”; a missed opportunity, the things that distracted you from what you really wanted to do and if you give some thought, you’ll see anywhere the gremlins got in your head.

Take your own inventory and ask yourself these questions:

  1. What was the best thing that you did this week?

  2. What was the hardest thing you did this week?

  3. What was the thing that “got away”?

  4. What was the best thing that happened this week?

Now you have increased motivation from the things you found you did that are easily forgotten, and you’ve got a focus for the coming week.

Gift yourself 10 minutes this weekend for this Sally and I guarantee you’ve done better than you think, and you’ll also uncover one or two things that are getting in YOUR way.
