You’ll probably recognise yourself here!

Do you ever go to bed inspired with great plans? You’re super motivated thinking about everything you could achieve tomorrow, but when you open your eyes in the morning, you start negotiating with your own mind. “It can wait till tomorrow” “Ten more minutes, then I’ll do it”… the list goes on!

Once you start negotiating with yourself, you’re in trouble, and the longer the conversation goes on… the least likely you are to do the thing. Your mind will be cleverly pitting the negative outcomes against the positive and usually the negatives seem to be enough to put you off doing your tasks, despite all that you could achieve in that time.

If you ever catch yourself doing this, act quick! Count 5..4..3..2..1 and get up and get it done!

Getting past that mental block which is preventing you from having a productive day can be really difficult, so try your best just to dive straight into your plans without giving yourself a chance for debate. Once you get started and get stuck into it, you’ll find it really wasn’t as bad as you thought it was going to be!
